Thesis (16) – Gratitude

Thank you

Chapter 16 in Thesis – On the Universal Meaning and Significance of Spirituality –

Finally, I want to express my gratitude to all the people who helped make my dream of writing this thesis into reality.

First and foremost I want to thank my incredible mentor Dr. Orly Idan, first of all for allowing me to pursue my dream with this thesis, although the topic and format of this paper pushed the boundaries of a thesis for a BA in psychology and even though the subject may not have been her main academic interest as a Psycholinguist. I also want to thank her for helping me on the way to realize this dream by extending her vast experience to guide me in the process, and maybe most importantly, for believing in me and encouraging me along the way. I have experienced a lot of self-doubt in taking on such a big topic with so little experience, so receiving the approval and encouragement of someone as talented as Dr. Orly Idan has made a difference that cannot be overstated. My deepest gratitude, Orly.

I also want to thank Professor Boaz Ben-David, the head of the Honors program, which is the program that allowed me to embark on this project to begin with. During the two years of the Honors program, Professor Ben-David has organized and facilitated a program of rare quality for me and for the rest of the lucky students who participated. Boaz really took us under his wing and invested his whole heart to ensure that we left our degree empowered and equipped to take on any ambition we could dream of. Professor Ben-David has helped me through one of the greatest challenges of my life, which is to take action on my dreams, and for that he has my deepest gratitude. Thank you, Boaz.

Additionally, I want to express my gratitude for my friends, Frey Vestergaard and Anders Saabye and to my family who have supported me in a trying time in which I have at once moved countries and faced the biggest creative challenge of my life. They have provided me with the practical and emotional conditions without which I could not have written this thesis. Beyond supporting me personally they have also helped me with aspects of the thesis itself, such as my friend Anders Saabye who was always attentive and contributed with feedback and resources to improve the paper. Thank you everyone.

Here I want to give a special thank you to Frey Vestergaard who has shared his intelligent mind and caring heart to support me in this process. Throughout this process, Frey has given countless hours to discussing the topics of the thesis with me, and I can confidently say that our discussions have greatly enriched my thinking and positively influenced the quality of this  thesis. Our discussions have always made me a more intelligent person on the widest range of topics you can imagine, and this was no less true when it came to such a tall topic as the topic of this thesis. Thank you, my friend.

Finally, thank you reader for investing your time and attention in considering my thoughts on this topic. I sincerely hope that you have found value in the experience, in whichever way.
